Cooks Cottage is the only 18th Century building in Melbourne. It was originally constructed in Yorkshire, England by Captain Cook's father. The cottage was purchased for £800 and brought to Australia in over 200 packing cases, where it was reassembled in Fitzroy

Gardens in 1934, to celebrate a century of European settlement in Victoria.
The Cottage provides an insight into the Cook's way of life through a combination of century old relics and modern interpretations of Captain Cook, and a vibrant English Cottage Garden.
